Kiap-TU-Wish Annual Fly Tying Event Wednesday April 3rd: Young Guns

As Oscar Wilde famously said “With age comes wisdom, but sometimes age comes alone.” Yes, experience is probably the single greatest tool in an any fly tyer’s kit. But often we become set in our ways and too comfortable with what we already know. The best way I know of to break that habit is with experimentation, and no one have I seen more experimentation from than today’s younger tyers. With new materials coming out every day, fly tying videos exploding at an exponential rate, and an infinite amount of fly photos and recipes on social media, it’s no wonder folks who are tied in more to technology are exposed to so many more ideas and techniques. See for yourself what youthful fly tyers bring to the bench, at the next Kiap-TU-Wish monthly meeting!

Brian Smolinski & Josh Mattis

The Kiap-TU-Wish chapter meets the first Wednesday of the month– from September to May– to discuss conservation issues, plan work days on our home waters, organize fundraisers, and of course, swap a few fish tales and learn how to tie the latest fly patterns. Exception: Annual Banquet in December.

Visitors and new members are always welcome. ANYONE may attend our meetings or join us for dinner. We need as many people as possible to show up for dinner….so we can continue to enjoy our meeting room for no cost to the chapter.

The meetings are free-of-charge (dinner is optional, but on your dime) and are open to all men, women and youth wishing to learn more about Trout Unlimited, fishing and conservation. Meeting agendas may include guest speakers, fly tying or casting instruction, and discussion related to conservation and fishing.

Dinner starts at 6:00 (optional, at your cost).
Meeting at 7:00
